Acupuncture for Back Pain

Pain is a signal. It is the body’s way of telling us that something is not right. Acupuncture can ease back pain, but its special skill is finding and correcting the root cause of pain, the reason for the signal.

What treatment looks like
  • We treat pain aggressively at first with frequent acupuncture visits then taper down as you find relief. In the long run, some of our patients walk away pain free while others return occasionally for a tune up.

  • We'll use a combination of tools to help relieve the pain you’re feeling now and address its underlying cause. These include acupuncture, herbal medicine, topical ointments and liniments, as well as high impact self-care routines.

  • We'll ask you document your pain daily in a "pain diary" so that we can get an accurate picture of your experience, change tactics if needed, and watch your pain change.

Jennifer's Story

Two years after a spinal cord injury, I was still in constant pain and my hands were about 60% paralyzed. Nothing had worked - PT, drugs, Occupational Therapy, massage - but after one visit, I was able to get through the day without debilitating pain. I still go regularly for tune-ups that have kept me well enough to continue working in a career I love. I'm grateful to have found someone so skilled. Literally saved my life.
