Within 6 months, I was pregnant (Carolyn's story)

I had been trying to conceive for almost a year before I came to see the Days. Within 6 months, I was pregnant!

My husband and I had been monitoring my cycles for a few months before seeing an OB for fertility support. We learned that my egg count was lower than expected and that it would be extra hard for us to conceive, even with the help of medicine. We were then on various cycles of clomid and trigger shots, all with no pregnancy. We were at the point of considering IVF when I decided to give acupuncture a try.

At the time, I sought out acupuncture for two reasons – to help with chronic pain in my ankles for which I could no longer take ibuprofen given our attempts to conceive, and for fertility support. New, and maybe somewhat nervous to try acupuncture, Jonathan and Hillary made it easy to trust them and relax. They were kind, knowledgeable, and patient. Within the first few treatments, I had significant pain relief in my ankles. A relief that has persisted, decreasing my overall reliance on ibuprofen for management.

We were then able to focus on my fertility journey. Jonathan and Hillary took things in steps with me, first just focusing on acupuncture and heat. As I became more comfortable, they showed me how to track my basal temperatures and then tailored treatments accordingly. And finally, we incorporated herbs into my therapy – constantly adjusting them based on my symptoms and response.

Throughout my pregnancy, we continued therapy to help with my nausea and other pregnancy related symptoms. I remain incredibly grateful for Jonathan and Hillary's care, attention, and support; and for helping us complete our family with a beautiful baby girl.

A note on timing

You may have read that acupuncture is most helpful in the days just before and after an IVF transfer — and that's true. But it's only part of the picture, and the same principle applies whether you're pursuing IVF or trying to conceive naturally.

The foundation matters more than the finish line.

Egg quality, uterine lining, circulation, hormonal balance, stress — these aren't things that shift in a week. They're conditions we build over time, ideally over three months or more before you're ready to conceive. When there's a history of poor egg quality or pregnancy loss, that preparation window becomes even more important. We're not just supporting a procedure or a cycle; we're cultivating an environment where a pregnancy can take hold and stay.

If you're planning IVF or actively trying to conceive and wondering when to start — the honest answer is: now. We'll meet you wherever you are.
