Bite-Size Chinese Medicine

Quick notes mostly about fitting old-world wisdom into a modern American life.

Lung-Large Intestine drinking straw

The Lung and Large Intestine share an important relationship in Chinese Medicine.

The pair is like a drinking straw - Lung at the top end, Large Intestine at the bottom end.

When the straw is full, and you plug up the top end, the contents can't escape. They also can't escape when you plug up the bottom end.

If the bowels aren't moving properly, it might be because the Lung is blocked - as with an infection, phlegm, stress, grief...

If the Lung is congested, it might be because the bowels are stuck.
