The "We'll see" response

Everything has two sides and everything changes.

A famous old parable:

There lived in a small village a farmer who had only one son and a horse. One day, the old man's horse ran away and the villagers came to console him, saying, "What bad luck!" But the old man replied, "We'll see."

A few days later, the old man's horse returned with a group of wild horses. The villagers came to congratulate him, saying, "What good luck!" But the old man replied, "We'll see."

Then the old man's son decided to train one of the wild horses, but he fell off and broke his leg. Again, the villagers came to console the old man, saying, "What bad luck!" But the old man replied, "We'll see."

A few weeks later, a war broke out and all the young men in the village were drafted to fight. But because the old man's son had a broken leg, he was exempt from the draft. The villagers came to congratulate the old man, saying, "What good luck!" But the old man replied, "We'll see."
