Bite-Size Chinese Medicine

Quick notes mostly about fitting old-world wisdom into a modern American life.

Two weeks of toil

Several years ago, I assembled three chairs for our first office space.

Difficult. The whole process took me about a week including a customer service call, a trip to the local hardware store, and a trip to a super-specialized hardware store one town over for super-specialized parts.

Recently, I ordered five similarly-styled chairs (different manufacturer obviously) for our expanded office space. Once they arrived, I let them sit in their boxes in the hallway for about a week, cursing each time I encountered them.

Finally, I rolled my eyes, girded my loins, and assembled them.

So easy. Done in under an hour.

A week of toil in both instances.
